Strawberry Smoothie Bowl

Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope you are all having a wonderful Tuesday. I was craving something sweet today and didn’t want to ruin my diet, so I decided to make a strawberry smoothie bowl for a snack. Smoothie bowls are awesome- it’s just a smoothie poured into a bowl and topped with all of your favorite toppings.

I like eating a smoothie bowls for breakfast because somehow chewing the smoothie with the toppings instead of drinking it through a straw makes me feel fuller.

I topped mine with granola, sunflower seeds, coconut, grapes and chocolate chips but feel free to use any toppings you like. These bowls are perfect for kids because they sneak in a cup of romaine lettuce that nobody would ever know about unless you told them!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond or soy milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1 cup greens (I used romaine)
  • 1 tsp. honey (optional)
  • Topping suggestions
  • granola
  • chocolate chips
  • coconut
  • grapes
  • sunflower seeds

Instructions

  1. Blend smoothie ingredients until creamy.
  2. Pour into a bowl and top with desired toppings.
